How can I get a book that is already checked out to someone else?

Answer

Sac State students, faculty, and staff (including emeritus) can request books from another institution that are currently not available in the library.

If a book you want is listed as Local copy unavailable, get it for me from other libraries click the title to open the details page.

In the image below, the information next to the arrow shows the book is already in use by somebody so click the "Sign in for request options" to get request options.

Once you've signed in with your SacLink UserID and password, you'll see a link for requesting the book from another institution. In the sample below, you can request a physical copy of the book to be delivered in approximately 3 days OR if you just need a chapter you can request a chapter to be delivered electronically in about a day.

You will be notified by Saclink email when it is ready for pickup from the library lockers.
