I have a citation for an article. How do I find the full text of the article?

Answer

When You Have a Citation and are not in a database

You should already have a citation - here is an example:

1. Type the title of the article in the OneSearch box:

title of article typed into OneSearch

2. Find your article in the result list and click the Full text available link:

Arrow points to full text available link

3. Select a full text option in the Available Online section by clicking the database name - sometimes there are multiple sources so just pick one!
arrow points to link to click to open full text article

4. The link will do one of the following:

  • Open the article
  • Open an abstract of the article [from which you will need to look for the PDF or html of the complete article] click here for example
  • Display a table of contents for a journal.

5.Or you can try to searching  Google Scholar, be sure you have changed settings so the ViewIt@SacState link appears. It will link you back to the Library for full text access.

If you have a DOI, you can copy/paste the DOI number into OneSearch. Make sure to only put the DOI number!
