How do I find a movie or film?

Answer

The Library has many streaming films available. Check out our Streaming Media Databases.

The library's physical media collection (CDs, DVDs, and VHS) is a closed collection meaning patrons cannot physically browse it. The media collection is housed behind the Library Service Desk on the 1st floor. Library personnel are available to assist you with locating and retrieval of media materials.

To find movies or films in the library's collection you should begin with OneSearch. The easiest way to start your search is by typing the title of the movie into the search box. You can then filter your results as needed. If you are looking for a physical DVD or VHS available in the library, be sure to set the search scope to Books & Media at Sac State.

In the image below, you can see the search results for the Pixar film Up! along with its physical location and call number. To borrow the item, bring the call number and your OneCard to the 1st floor service desk.

The library also provides online access to many movies and films. Once you find the item you want to view, click the link that says "Online Access" or "Full-text Available at" as shown in the images below. You may be prompted to sign in with your Saclink credentials to view content.
