How do I get a book not owned by the library?

Answer

The library’s CSU+ requesting service has expanded to include loans from outside the CSU system as well as articles and book chapters.

1. To get a book the library doesn’t own, go to OneSearch on the library homepage and type in the title of a book in the search field. If you see the book you want but it says "Check Availability" or "Get it from other Libraries" click on the book title to get to the full record.

2.  If an item lists no location information for Sacramento State click "Sign in for request options" then follow steps 4 - 6 below.

3. If you do not see your item in the results list, you will need to click "Still didn't find what you need? Click here to send a request." After signing in with your SacLink credentials, fill out the resource sharing form as completely as possible and send the request. We will search for your item.

4-5. Once signed in you will see 2 offers to get it from other locations. One offer for the book, another for a chapter of the book. Select Get a physical copy for the request form. Select the volume (Only if the book you want to request is part of a series) and click Send. The default location the book will be sent to is the Sacramento State Library.

6. When the item has been received by the Sacramento State Library, you will get a Saclink email notice for the item to be picked up from a library locker.
