FAQ

Beginning in the fall 2025 semester, chapter scanning will no longer be provided via the online course reserve request form. Faculty have several options for proving readings to students:

• Available e-resources: utilize electronic resources already available via OneSearch and link to these directly from Canvas using the OneSearch Permalink.
• Self-scanning: scan chapters yourself and upload them directly to Canvas. 
• Traditional reserves: place physical books on reserve at the library for students to borrow. The library accepts personal books owned by faculty as reserve items. 
• Hybrid approach: if you wish to provide the first few chapters of a text via Canvas while also placing the book on reserve, we ask that you make those scans yourself before turning in the book for reserve.
